Dear EFPT Friends,
In previous years, EFPT itself has supported delegates from less resourced countries to participate its activities by providing Forum bursaries, covering travel and accommodation expenses and waiving of Forum fees. However, as a non-for-profit association, the income of EFPT is not regular and relies mostly on donations. Unfortunately in recent years EFPT has had less resources for Forum bursaries. Therefore we launched a brand new initiative before the EFPT Forum in London, called the “Waive the Fee Fund”, supporting fellow trainees from less-resourced countries by covering their forum fees. We invited you and your associations to contribute with a donation.
In this newsletter edition, we would like to thank and acknowledge all of you who answered to our call and donated to the Fund. Thanks to you, the Waive the Fee campaign was a success and the money you donated was used to waive the country and delegate fees to all those awarded bursaries to come to London. We sincerely hope the Waive the Fee campaign will continue to support trainees in joining us at the EFPT Forum in Porto, as part of the new Strengthening EFPT Funding Group’s work. The aim of this group is to benefit from your combined ideas, suggestions and efforts in order to increase EFPT’s financial independence and stability. The success of the Waive the Fee Fund proves that many of you care about EFPT and we would like to invite all of you who are interested to help us with next year’s Waive the Fee campaign to join our Strengthening EFPT Funding Group (please contact efpt-board@googlegroups.com).
