Establishing a Working Group on Mental Health: Fostering Well-being Among Psychiatry Trainees and Medical Students

In recognition of the unique challenges faced by psychiatry trainees and medical students, we are thrilled to introduce a new initiative: the Working Group on Mental Health. This group is dedicated to proactively addressing the well-being of our members, acknowledging the demands and stressors inherent in the journey towards a career in psychiatry.

Objectives and Focus Areas:

Awareness Building:

Shed light on the prevalence of mental health challenges within the psychiatry trainee and medical student community.

Challenge and dispel stigmas surrounding mental health to create a culture of openness, open the doors to neurodiversity.

Education and Resilience:

Tap into expert insights to offer training sessions on identifying and addressing mental health challenges.

Research and Insights:

Conduct research to understand the unique mental health needs and stressors faced by psychiatry trainees and medical students.

Evaluation and Evolution:

Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of implemented initiatives.

Request feedback from members to ensure the Working Group remains responsive to the evolving needs of our community.
