Dear colleagues and friends,
I am pleased to bring you this Spring Edition of the EFPT Newsletter covering the plans and outcomes for this year.
I am delighted to announce that EFPT is providing Institutional Sponsorship to the organization of local, national or european events related with psychiatry, by contributing to the promotion of these initiatives upon request. The first event supported was the Psychiatric Conference for students and interns that took place in 18 April in Katowice, Poland.
We began to collaborate with associations from other fields, such as IFMSA (International Federation of Medical Students Associations), promoting the positive image of Psychiatry. I am very satisfied to see such a bright group of medical students attending the Joint Mental Health Session I presented in Aalborg, at the European Regional Meeting of IFMSA between 24 and 27 April in Denmark.
We have also contributed to tackle one of the key demands from trainees, through the first Psychotherapy to GO course, in collaboration with EPA and UEMS, which has introduced psychiatry trainees in Croatia into the different modalities of psychotherapy in a two weekend course (29-31 January and 14-15 February).
We have submitted applications to the International Association Congress, taking place in Lausanne between 5-7 May, and it is an honour that EFPT is standing next to renowned international associations of other fields.
We invite you to follow us throughout the year and to contribute to the EFPT Calendar, having your suggestions of dates, of interest to trainees, that should be marked in our Calendar.
I would like to encourage you to apply for the EFPT Award for Excellence 2015 by May 30, which is a prize for an outstanding and innovative project in the field of psychiatry.
Meanwhile, save the dates for the upcoming EFPT Porto Forum 2015 taking place between 22-27 June 2015 (with a Pre-Forum Leadership and Professional Skills Course from 19-22 June, and the Scientific Programme taking place between 25-26 June).
We look forward to meet you in Porto!
Best wishes,
Mariana Pinto da Costa
