CAP Working Group – A Season of Reaching Out

CAP Representative | Asilay Şeker

Hi all,

It’s been a while, and I hope you have been looking after yourselves during the dire, cold days.

Yes, it was winter, yet I’m proud to say that the CAP Working Group (WG) has been having a very productive season.

We have been having new connections all over EFPT and Europe with many exciting news to share with you all.

First things first, a very important relationship revitalized by the CAP Working Group has been with ESCAP.  We have reached out, and were welcomed with open arms.

What does that welcome entail? A stand (generously granted), a presentation about EFPT, a much anticipated EFPT dinner –all to be held at the ESCAP Congress- and the ongoing effort to create more opportunities for the CAP trainees. Let’s just say that you will see a lot of EFPT during the ESCAP 2019 in Vienna.  Oh, did I mention that we also did an interview with them? Well, I just did J

On to other good news.  So, we all know and love the Porto Research Award. It is a great initiative for young researchers with a jury comprised of distinguished professors. This year, for the very first time, we are going to have a CAP professor in that grand jury. We heartily thank Prof. Stefan Eliez for accepting our proposal and we are certain that a CAP professor in the jury is going to make a great difference.

We have been reaching out internally, too. Collaboration among different working groups is actually fun, and we thought we should have some more of it. Just make sure you check out the new edition of the phenomenal ‘EFPT Psychotherapy Guidebook’ for something ‘Playful  😉

And do these people ever stop? Apparently not.  Thanks to the adamant enthusiasm of our WG members, we reached out all the way to Portugal and now have a new Exchange placement in Lisbon. Considering of applying? We thought so. You can see the webpage and get things running.

Last but not least, we have been keeping on reaching out to our long time partner a.k.a. the UEMS-CAP. With their continual support, the Prague CAP Day is promising to be great (details will follow).  We are also assisting them to organize and promote the ‘2. Trainers Seminar’ which is to be held in Lyon this year. If you’re interested, drop us an email, we can provide you with further info.

Well well, I’ve written a lot but, I’m sure I missed some things out because we are on the run with many things. Still, we are always looking for more people to share the enthusiasm and help the EFPT CAP community thrive.

Do keep in touch and be assured that you will find something you like once you join us.

Enjoy the spring and keep rockin’.
