Târgu Mureș

Targu-Mures

Târgu Mureș is a welcoming city, given the multicultural character generated by various cultures that live in symbiosis in the territory. The origin of the cultural diversity is an ancient one, being expressed in human plan by ethnic and religious groups. The predominant populations are the Romanians and the Hungarians. The opening to the West is also proven by the languages spoken in the area, among which: Hungarian, German and English language.

Târgu Mureș Municipality is attractive in terms of landscape, being the residence of a county where nearly one third of its area is covered by forest. Another defining natural element for Târgu Mureș is the Mureș River, to which is connected the identity of the city itself, by the name it gives and by the crucial role it has played in shaping the current form of the city.

Description:

Psychiatric Clinic No 2 is part of Mureș County Hospital, was founded in 1996 and it provides psychiatric, psychological, spiritual, and other services. Evaluations and treatment are performed by psychiatric trainees under the direct supervision of psychiatrists. It has 75 beds for acute patients, 5 beds for chronic patients, provides day care hospitalizations and is geared to both involuntary and voluntary patients who have an acute or chronic psychiatric illness. In addition to offering inpatient services, the clinic provides outpatient services that help support patients as they discharge or prevent hospitalization.

Our approach to treatment planning involves working together with patients to develop recommendations for every aspect of treatment during their stay in our facility, including individual and group psychotherapy, psychosocial activities, and medications. Treatment plans also include recommendations for patients to continue to manage illness after they are discharged from the hospital.

From the total of 80 beds, the open ward has 63 beds -neurosis- women / men neurosis – and 17 beds for emergency. In the clinic there are 17 wards, 3 medical offices, 3 treatment rooms and a living room. The team comprises 5 psychiatrists, 31 psychiatric trainees, 26 nurses, 2 psychologists and 16 auxiliary personal. The pathology found in our clinic covers: personality disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders, sleep and wake disorders, neurocognitive disorders and other mental disorders.

The clinic integrates the Discipline of Psychiatry from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy Târgu Mureș and the Romanian Associations for the Study of Personality founded by Prof. Dr. Aurel Nireştean in 2001. This scientific and professional forum currently has over 90 members which reside in psychiatric centers all over the country and is affiliated with the European Association for the Study of Personality Disorders and the International Association for the Study of Personality Disorders.
