City Visits

On Saturday 21 July there will be two optional visits before the main programme kicks off.  This will be an opportunity to do a bit of sightseeing, but also to get to know your fellow delegates in an informal setting. There is the possibility of exploring the lively host city of Bristol or to travel to nearby Bath, a beautiful and historic city dating back to Roman times. Please indicate if you would like to join one of these visits when you register for the Forum.

There is the option to stay an extra night at Wills Hall (or possibly another student residence next door if we get lots of bookings). We have booked coaches to leave from Wills Hall in the morning to both destinations and then get you back there again in time for registration and the official opening  of the Forum.  There will be a small charge of £10 to join either visit, to cover transport and other costs.

If you are not arriving until Saturday morning, then you can also make your own way to join the city visits directly, without needing to take the morning transport.  Please contact the LOC on efptbristol2018@gmail.com if you have any queries about the city visits.

Bristol

Transport will leave Wills Hall at 10.45 to the city centre, where there will be the option to join a street art walking tour or to explore independently.  There will then be a picnic lunch in a grassy, central square, with the afternoon free to enjoy the Harbour Festival. Transport will leave central Bristol at 16.30.

Bath

Transport will leave Wills Hall at 09.30 for the 20km trip to Bath.  There will be the option to join a guided walking tour of the city’s historic sights and after lunch there will be the option to visit the award-winning Roman Baths, before transport returns to Bristol at 16.00. There will be an additional cost to visit the Roman Baths, which will be paid on the day directly to the venue.
